Proms in the Park

The Choir were invited to perform in Priory Park, Essex at the Southend Mayor’s charity Prom in the Park on 1st September 2018.  The first half of the concert was outdoors in the Priory grounds and the second half in the Great Hall.  The Choir closed the second half with a mixed repertoire which included a Welsh Hymn, songs from shows, songs from the 1960’s and an opportunity for the audience to join in Jerusalem in true Proms style.  Supporting acts throughout the evening were of the highest standard making for a great evening’s entertainment.

There was much positive feedback about the concert and about the Leigh Orpheus’s perfromance, with LOMVC’s President, Sir David Amess, commenting:

“We couldn’t have had a finer choir than your good selves closing Saturday’s Proms. As Always you were brilliant together with your wonderful conductor Jan and pianist Kay.

The rendition of Jerusalem was absolutely perfect for the occasion.”
