The hottest Saturday of the year so far found the Choir in Leigh-on-Sea Library Gardens singing as part of the annual Leigh Folk Festival. Musical Director Janet Walker was acting as accompanist and Deputy MD Dave Smith conducted. The stage provided the Choir with some welcome shade whilst the audience, seated in their folding chairs, enjoyed a mixture of sun and shade.
Singing outdoors is always challenging so the Choir sung a well rehearsed programme that included many items familiar to the audience. A lady walking through the gardens commented that the Choir “sounded brilliant and looked very cool and smart”.
