On 29th September, the second day of a busy weekend for The Choir, LOMVC sang at the beautiful Layer Marney Tower near Tiptree in Essex.
The concert was in aid of the Red Cross and The Choir were delighted to have been asked to perform along with the Colchester Military Wives Choir and the Rock Choir.
It had been intended to hold the concert outdoors, but the possibility of rain resulted in performances being moved into the elegant Great Hall where acoustics made singing a lot easier than it would have been outside.
The Choir performed two sets of a wide range of items including a medley of 1960’s numbers, American Trilogy and Some Enchanted Evening.
In between the two sets there was some audience participation with a combination piece of Swing Low Sweet Chariot and When the Saints.
For many in the audience this was the first time they had heard the LOMVC and they applauded enthusiastically.
It was a great venue to perform at, and The Choir would love to return someday.
