Concert in aid of Red Cross Indonesia Earthquake and Tsunami Appeal Raises £1,000

The Choir arranged this concert at short notice in order to raise money to support victims of the Indonesian earthquake and tsunami.  The concert was held  at the Salvation Army Hadleigh Temple in Essex on January 26th 2019.   The concert attracted a sizeable, appreciative and generous audience.  The programme comprised a good selection of  LOMVC favourite items including “My Lord What a Morning” and “She”.

There were four solo spots.  Three performed by members of the choir: Trevor Davey singing an item from Beauty and the Beast, Harry Rowson using his bass voice with great effect singing If I Were a Rich Man from Fiddler on the Roof and Tom Marshall amusing the audience with The Sloth by Flanders and Swann.

The final soloist was guest Patrick Byrne, an Elvis Tribute artist, who delighted the audience with his singing, costume and choreography.

To conclude the concert The Choir sang American Trilogy assisted by Elvis!

The audience demonstrated their generosity by donating just over £1,000 to the Red Cross Indonesia appeal collection made at the end of the concert.
