As usual, it really started with the ‘in place’ rehearsal on the previous evening.
Then on the Saturday a sumptuous repast was prepared for our Patrons (needless to say, Mr Riddle excelled himself as a waiter).
Then it was on to the concert itself.
The entry on the Choir’s Facebook page reads:
“Thanks to our lovely audience, and especially our Patrons, for their warmth and support at our 2015 Patrons’ Concert last Saturday. The evening featured a varied programme: four ‘home grown’ soloists – one new, two new pieces sung by the choir, and the four Patrons’ Choices to end the concert.
A memorable evening including the ‘high’ of our presentation to retiring member Charles Benford and the ‘low’ of dedicating Christus Salvator to the memory of Luciano Menegatti who was to have been a soloist at this concert. The Leigh Orpheus Male Voice Choir family at its very best!”
From audience members:
“Very nice concert last night! Thank you.”
“Thank you, your team and the choir for delivering a wonderful evening.
Tinged with sorrow but uplifting.
Well done”
