The LOMVC's last concert of 2024 was a winter themed concert performed to an almost full house at the Salvation Army Temple in Hadleigh on 30th November.
The Choir opened the concert with their signature piece "Gwahoddiad" which, with its rousing amens, set the mood for the evening.
The Choir then picked up the evening's theme with "In the Bleak Midwinter" which included solos from two choir members.
After two more pieces by LOMVC we came to the first solo slot. The planned soloist had been taken ill but the audience were entertained by MD Jan Walker and Accompanist Kay Duell performing, at very short notice, a piano duet.
This was followed by The Choir's first public performance of "A Winter's Tale" by Mike Batt and Tim Rice and made popular by David Essex.
For the second solo spot the audience were delighted by some outstanding clarinet playing by Adriana Dvorakova.
LOMVC then sang through to the interval.
After more from The Choir Ralph Faulkes from the top tenors treated the audience to a powerful solo performance of "Bring Him Home" from Les Misérables which resulted in a standing ovation.
The second half continued with five songs from The Choir and another virtuoso performance from Adriana.
Finally choir and audience joined together to sing "Walking in a Winter Wonderland" bringing the Winter Concert to a close.
