The choir has had great success over the years in organising concerts at very short notice to raise money for the victims of disasters and emergencies. As the events unfolded in Ukraine it was decided to hold a concert to support those whose lives had been turned upside down by this awful war. Concert admission was free but the audience were encourage to make donations on leaving.
This emotional concert opened with a recording of the Ukraine National Anthem. You Raise me Up was performed with the backdrop of projected images from the war.
Other items sung included Some Enchanted Evening, a selection of popular songs from the 1960s and a Neapolitan Trilogy.
The audience responded generously and £2,590 was raised for the charity.
