On Friday 11th August we welcomed Janice Gilroy from the British Red Cross and presented her with a cheque for £1353 raised at the Mill Hall concert.
We entertained Janice by demonstrating how much work goes into learning a musical piece as we rehearsed ‘Impossible Dream’:
Then we sang several songs for her, including ‘American Trilogy’ which is a particular favourite of Janice’s:
John Riddle and several members of Committee presented the cheque to Janice who was delighted to accept on behalf of the Red Cross:
And Janice gave a short talk on the work of the Red Cross to members, assuring them that all money raised in the UK stays in the UK, and that the funds would be applied equally to the three causes we espoused at the concert:
