LOMVC on the Road

The Choir took to the road in October 2024 for a short tour of East Anglia. Their First hosts were Huntingdon Male Voice Choir with a joint concert in the splendid acoustic of St Mary the Virgin Church, Godmanchester.

The choirs each sang two sets on their own and came together for a joint number in each half of the concert.

Huntingdon MVC opened the concert with a set of  interesting and varied pieces. The LOMVC followed, and their first set included "Love Shine a Light" complete with illumination.

The set finished with "The Song of the Jolly Roger" with The Choir suitably attired as pirates.

Then the combined choirs sang "Softly as I Leave You".

LOMVC opened the second half of the concert which included their popular medley of "Songs from Back to the 60s".

After another set from Huntingdon MVC the choirs combined again for the poignant "The Mansions of the Lord".

The next day The Choir moved on to sing with the St Edmundsbury Male Voice Choir in another splendid church, St Mary's Newmarket.

LOMVC performed the same sets as the previous evening and St Edmundsbury sang two sets with a blend of traditional Male Voice Choir numbers and some more unusual pieces. On this occasion the joint items were "Morte Christe" and "Rhythm of Life" sung in the confined space in front of the altar.

This brought to an end the tour where The Choir had enjoyed two splendid concerts.
