LOMVC Host Stevenage Ladies Choir

On 21st June 2024 the LOMVC welcomed Stevenage Ladies Choir and their musical director Rachel Moorhead for a joint concert at the Salvation Army Temple in Hadleigh. It was possibly the warmest evening of the year so it was impressive to see a sizeable audience including the Mayor of Southend. The Choir opened the concert with a selection from their repertoire. The Ladies then performed two sets one either side of the interval. They entertained us with a wide variety of songs, some familiar and some probably heard for the first time by most of the audience. They two choirs joined together for the "Wellerman". The Choir's final set comprised a medley of songs from "Les Mis" with solos from Liszie, Ian and Ralph. The Choir concluded the concert with their signature piece "Gwahoddiad".
