The choir routinely performs in concerts around the Southend area and further afield. Some concerts are arranged by the choir itself. Some are arranged by others, ranging from event organisers and other musical groups to charities and voluntary organisations. We will be happy to perform a whole concert, or share the concert with another performing group.

The Leigh Orpheus has performed in venues large and small – Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris and The Fishermen’s Chapel in Leigh on Sea, outside, inside and even underground – Blaenavon Ironworks, The Senedd in Cardiff and Pooles Cavern in Buxton to name only a few.
It is usual for the choir to charge a fee for performing a concert, but that is a small expense compared to the amount that can be potentially be raised from the concert itself. The choir is usually generous if the concert is for charity. To keep costs down, for charity concerts we invite the charity to undertake the venue booking and management, the publicity and ticketing. However, we are happy to take an allocation of tickets and sell them on the organiser’s behalf. The income from tickets we sell to our own supporters often covers our fee.
We are happy to discuss what else we can do to help make your event a big success. We can arrange soloists (at an extra cost) if required.

Our performances and concerts are generally in halls and auditoria so any venue needs to be large enough to accommodate the choir (preferably on a raked stage although that is not essential) and the audience. We will be pleased to discuss supporting your initiative and appearing at Corporate Events as well as weddings and civil partnerships. We tend to only sing at funerals if they are those of our own members.
