Autumn Concert

Leigh Orpheus Male Voice Choir chose a Sunday afternoon in September at St Augustine's Church in Thorpe Bay for their autumn concert. It proved a good choice; as they were rewarded with a sunny afternoon, a large audience and the church's excellent acoustic.

The concert had a well received blend of popular music, songs from the shows and a few male voice choir classics.

Perhaps the highlight of the performance was a set of songs from Les Miserables which the audience clearly enjoyed. A set of Queen songs was also popular, with the audience enthusiastically participating in the chorus from "Another One Bites the Dust" and energetically waving at the end of "We are the Champions".

A couple of Everly Brothers songs were performed by choir members Dave Smith and Ian Leonard accompanying themselves on guitars.

Tenor Ralph Faulkes and bass Jim Ryan sang a solo pieces accompanied by Janet Walker.

Choir and audience left happy after a well spent afternoon.
