Support Us

The Leigh Orpheus enjoys support in a number of ways.

If you would like to support us please read on and get in touch by using the Response form at the bottom of the Contact Us page

To take an ongoing interest in LOMVC please have your details added to our Mailing List. That way you can receive advance information about our performances, tours and other events of relevance to LOMVC. Being on the mailing list means you will have the early opportunity to book tickets for our concerts and will be able to take part in events we organise.

We promise to keep your details secure, not to pass them on to anyone else and only to use them in conjunction with information directly relevant to LOMVC, and you can opt out at any point.

The LOMVC is one of the largest and most forward-thinking male voice choirs in the country. Being a Patron, you would become a very important associate of the choir.

The choir is a voluntary charity and is looking to widen its horizons. It wants to give even greater support, through its fundraising, to deserving charities.
The choir is building a glowing reputation, both in this country and abroad, with its interesting repertoire and special sound.

For your patronage, in addition to the grateful thanks of the choir for your support:

  • You will receive a Patron’s pin.
  • There will be concessionary tickets available for each `home` concert.
  • There will be a Patrons’ concert every year which will be free to Patrons, preceded by a reception for Patrons.
  • You will have the opportunity of deciding part of that programme from a list supplied by the Musical Director.
  • You will be on the Mailing List.
  • You will receive regular updates from the choir.
  • You will have the opportunity to take part in choir events and tours both in the UK and abroad.

What contribution do I need to make to be a Patron?

You will be asked to make a voluntary donation of £30 (or more if you wish) per annum.

The ideal method of payment is by Standing Order, either quarterly, semi-annually or annually.

If you are a UK tax-payer we would like you to complete a Gift Aid form which allows us to claim additional funding. The £30 you contribute becomes £37.50 for us.

Should there be dual Patronage within a household, we would suggest a total donation of £50.

The choir is interested to hear from organisations who would like to offer sponsorship to the choir in return for promotional exposure and linking their company name with the work of the choir in the community.
Currently the choir needs sponsorship in money or kind for:

  • Printing and publicity
  • Website
  • Purchase of music
  • General funds

If your company can offer professional support by providing a member of staff, or other benefits in kind, under CSR then we would like to hear from you. The choir continues to develop and grow and as a group of volunteers ourselves we sometimes need expertise and extra time that we can’t provide from within our own ranks.

The choir relies on voluntary support in order to function well and deliver all the performances and initiatives in which we are involved.

Front of House and Hospitality

We have a super team which looks after Front of House and Hospitality at our concerts.

Our Front of House and Hospitality Teams are led by Pam Bearman. The Front of House role is to welcome people to concerts, handle the advance and on-the-night ticketing arrangements, programme and CD sales. They ensure that the auditorium is ready for our audience members and they look after our VIP guests.

This dedicated band are always on duty at our concerts and are available to provide their services at concerts where the choir are guests.

Our Hospitality Team provide the interval refreshments at our ‘home concerts’. They are renowned for their attention to detail and being the lovely team that they are they also ensure that choir members have something to drink after their sound check and before the actual concert.

Can You Offer LOMVC Some Practical Help?

If you have some time to spare and feel that you would like to help us in any capacity it would be good to hear from you. Whether you have some spare time to help us with things we have planned, or you have skills that would benefit us, please let us know.
